WEB Vs INTERNET ? The DIFFERENCE you need to know.

I know how tough it would be  to imagine a life without the internet.

We have been using internet for a long time now. We use it in different works of life and use it for our convenience.

You may have realized that we  often confuse the terms Internet with Web. In our day to day life also we use these terms interchangeably.

We have often heard things like "I will search it on the web"or "I will find it on the internet".

How different are these two statements? Let's analyse.

Here, the question arises what exactly is this Web and Internet. What is the difference between Web and Internet?

Here, I will try to explain to you the basic differences between Web and Internet.

 What is INTERNET ?

In simple words, internet can be referred as the collection of different interconnected  networks.

(A network is a group of devices in which the devices can communicate and transfer information)

Internet is a massive network of networks, a networking infrastructure.

It connects millions of computers globally, so that all these computers can communicate to each other.

All the devices present in the universe such as mobile phones, smart devices such as TV, cameras, watches can be considered to be a part of this network.

Internet is the term used for everything you do Online. It refers to the physical network of all the devices connected across the globe.

You can connect to any device with the help of internet.  However you need to follow certain rules while communicating within a network.

What is WEB ?

Web can be considered as a Service provided by the internet.  With the help of web, we can access  the information available on the internet.

Web is the term consisting WWW(World Wide Web). The websites we use form the core of the web.

We will not be able to use Web without the internet.

DIFFERENCE between Internet and Web?

We can use internet independently without the web, in this case we will not be able to access the websites (WWW or HTTPS).

Torrent is one example where
we are using internet but we are not using the web.
As torrent is another service provided by the web.

Mobile applications form a part of the internet. We don't need web in order to work on the applications.

What if there is no web ?

Like I said earlier, we can use internet without the web. Web just consists of a particular service provided by the internet.

You can still use other services of the internet such as online game playing, torrent, mobile applications etc.

Hope, this article has helped you to understand what is Internet and Web, the basic difference between the two.
